So yeah...
Beard experiment 1: Make it look a little cleaner.
( Any criticism? )
I've never really trimmed my beard before, so I have no idea if this is symmetrical or not... it looks to be fairly close. Unfortunately, my hair doesn't naturally grow at the same rate for different parts of my face (especially the side burns), so I think it may be beneficial to take the hair level down in the chin and stache with a beard trimmer.

So as I've been away, it appears that 10th CS has been announced. And I don't care.
Cedar Point was so tiring... 3 rides all day... lines were brutal on my feet... I just want to sleep for the rest of my life.
I have to get a hair cut sometime tomorrow... I also have to wash my clothes, and pack up for school... because I leave on Thursday. I also have to pray that they find me room soon, so I don't have to live in limbo for a while, while taking classes.
Probably last LJ entry. :/ School starts, screw LJ. :D

[19 Aug 2005|07:03am] |
I fell asleep at about 11 last night, and woke up at 5ish... just didn't feel like sleeping.
Anyway, I got my grades back with my diploma for graduating my exchange program... and I got all A's. We don't use A's at MSU... Over there, the classes are graded so that 80% and above is an A, 70-80 is a B, and 60-70 is a C... everything else is failing. I ended up getting a 92% in one of my Japanese classes, which was nice(The one that I spent less 15 minutes on the final exam). So, I guess I did pretty good in school, which was cool.
Sorry about the messed up LJ entry yesterday... it was a lot of factors are plunging through my head at once, with a combination of lack of sleep, lack of water, and lack of food. I mean, I didn't eat much food in the previous 48 hours... and I still just didn't feel like eating. The combination of that, and finding out that I was really messed up with MSU... :( It was too much at once.
I get to go home home later today... after seeing Grandma and Grandpa... and I get to go to school home next week. YAY I THINK NEXT FRIDAY! ... That is, if I get a school home. XD I currently have no place to live at MSU. XD
I still can't believe I'm back in the USA!!! I spent so much time wishing I could get back, and I'm finally back... it's like, a HUGE part of my brain is just empty wondering what I should wish for... so, I think I'm going to fill that void with me wishing for a Japanese girl friend! :DDDDDDDDD The ability to keep Japanese a part of my life (the part of Japan I loved), and having a girl at the same time... It'd a dream come true! :DDDDD Anyway, it'll be good to be home home... I get to sell my IIDX RED archstand now! And I get to do a whole bunch of stuff... like go shopping for clothes... and drive my car...! And... get a new driver's license, and get a hair cut, and pick up the new Ren and Stimpy DVD box set... AND PLAY IIDX AGAIN! OH MAN I AM GETTING SO EXCITED!!!! God, I already feel 100 times better than I did yesterday... I can't wait! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Now that I have eaten and slept, I'm finally thinking almost clearly again. :DDDDDDDDDD
OH YEAH! I forgot something... My plane arrived/landed at 13:37. LOLOLOL!!!!!!!! I wanted to take a picture SO bad, but I couldn't get my camera out in time! The time actually was still in Japanese style too, so it said 13:37! XD XD XD Now I leave, no more computer until I get to MSU. XD

Yeah, school got out... and since school got out... I have been on a computer one time, I think.
Right now I'm trying to log into Stuinfo at MSU and MSUFCU, and since the internet here is having a crappy day... I am unable to do either. Time to pick up and go to a different computer.
If anyone had my old e-mail to my phone, please delete all history of that... because my phone is no longer in service. I cancelled it yesterday... so that means, for the next two days, I have no phone. When I do finally get home, and for some strange reason you feel like giving me a phone call, my number is 517-862-1560. If you see that number pop up on your phone, don't freak out... unless you know that it's me and that's the natural reaction.
I leave on Thursday, which means I have today and tomorrow left... but, basically just today, because tomorrow is the 終了式... uhh, English... what would that be... The ending ceremony? I don't know. But, that is tomorrow, and then the day after tomorrow I wake up at 5:00 to leave my room by 5:30 fully packed and ready to go on a journey back in time. I leave Tokyo Narita at 3:05PM, and I get home in Michigan at 1:45PM.
Yesterday I picked up an extra IIDX controller for 3650yen. It looks and feels brand new. Of course, I haven't played on it yet, since I sold my TV last Friday... and I probably won't change from my old controller until I reach 1000 AAAs... which probably won't happen until 10th style, if that should ever come out(which I am doubting). My suitcases are already over weight, so I am preparing to be destroyed with bonus fees at the airport. I love how my limit from Tokyo Narita to Detroit Metro is 50 pounds a bag... but since I have to get on a plane from Naha(okinawa) to Tokyo Haneda before that(a domestic flight), they put the weight cap at 20 Kilograms, which is roughly 43 pounds. So instead of being able to carry over twice that in my luggage, I can carry a little less than the limit for one bag for international flights.
That also means that all of the suveniers that I buy today will have to be shipped home, unless I can manage to shove them in my backpack... Which I won't be able to... Which means I will be another 300 dollars down the drain about. I spent about 600 dollars yesterday closing out all of my things. It sure is expensive leaving a country for good... there are a lot of expenses... Like unpaid health insurance... Heh... that was an interesting story.
Today is my last free day in Okinawa, so I have to go to Naha to buy souveniers. Despite how much I would love to buy them for everyone, I will only be buying for people I know in real life. That alone will be a huge hit on the wallet. Ugh. Wish me a safe trip home, this will be the last Live Journal entry I make until school starts (I won't have internet at my mom's house).

God Grandia III is so awesome. And it's not easy either. Earlier today I was fricking going through this place that only had two save points: One at the very beginning and one at the very end. Only the one at the beginning will restore your HP and MP. Sooooo, I walk all the way through to the end of the first screen, and think, "Well, I'll probably make it to that save point at the end of this next screen"... and I start off okay... but then half way through the screen this faggot on a lizard keeps shocking me and crap... and it would fricking stun me so none of my guys could heal. OPPS GAME OVER BECAUSE THE ENEMIES GOT TOO MANY TURNS IN A ROW THAT STUNNED MY CHARACTERS BOO HOO. They also had like 1300-1400 HP when my guys only have 500. YAY! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD You really have to use strategy in the game... in the battle sense, it's more of a strategy RPG than a typical RPG.
I proceeded to get angry, and then about an hour later, I re-played the 40 minute scenario and finally got through this time. Nothing is worse than playing for a long time, gaining lots of experience points and level... and then just having to do it all over again because of lack of save points. :( ... Even though Grandia III is pretty much littered with save points... In this certain scenario, it made you fight too many abnormally difficult guys without saving. :/ I guess if you played smart, you shouldn't have a problem... But I wasn't paying close enough attention to my character's health. You really have to heal them BEFORE they lose over half of their hit points... I guess I was just retarded. :D
But last night I came to this area with a ton of sheep just sitting around. The sheep didn't do anything... and if you enter battle with them, all they do is graze(if you kill them they give a TON of gold, I don't know why). They will get their turns, and charge up like they are going to do an attack... but they just spin around in a circle and make a funny noise instead. XD So, I decided to take a movie of me fighting the sheep... I hadn't calibrated the line-in level, so the sound is going to be a little loud, so make sure you turn down your speakers a bit when you start to watch it.
...
I let it play at the end, so the "Excellent!" (no-damage battle) victory music could play one full loop. It's a really cool tune... I love all the music in this game so far. I really want the soundtrack.
.......... Okay, I've been trying to upload it for almost an hour now, and it's only 9 megs... and it never finished. So screw it, I'll wait until I'm at school at MSU(I will have probably beaten the game by then).

Wild Arms: The 4th Detonator... is just too frustrating. Too hard. I am at the end... and now normal enemy battles are getting harder than the boss battles. So I just quit... I mean, I totally lost all interest in the story because I had to quit playing for exams... and since then I played all the way through Musashiden 2, AND I started Grandia III.
Wild Arms was okay... but it just pales in comparison to most Squaresoft games(Yes, I know Wild Arms is not a Square game, but there's really no way to hide the fact that it isn't by Square... :/). No, I refuse to call them SquareEnix. :( I wish they kept their name Squaresoft. :( ;_; There was nothing like seeing that logo at the beginning of a new game... Then that darn merge screwed it up forever. :( There was a time when Squaresoft games... were all just so amazing, if you saw that logo... you could tell right then and there that the game would be amazing. Except for the Saga Frontier games... no one liked those, but everyone knew to avoid those. But I'm talking even before that... Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3... Chrono Trigger... Final Fantasy 4-6... When they didn't release a new game every month, like they have been doing all year. Squaresoft was really good until they went to Playstation. Then they were really good for Final Fantasy games... Now... god, after FFX-2... I have lost almost all faith in them. But, I looked at some pictures from Grandia III... and it just looked too amazing to pass up. And it is.
So yeah, yesterday I took Musashiden 2 back to town to sell it... and I got 3300 yen for it, after paying 6100 yen for it. :( But on the bright side, the Book Off had Dragon Quest VIII there for 3200 yen used, and since I used my Book Off Points card, I got 450 yen off that right off the bat, so I only paid 2750 yen for it! So I basically traded in Musashiden 2 for Dragon Quest VIII, and 550 yen. So I proceded to go to the other game store to buy Grandia III. I have never seen a PS2 game with TWO DISCS for the full game. I have seen games with the game disc, and some preview disc... Or something like that... but never two PS2 DVD discs for one game. And after playing it for a bit, I understand why. It is a cinematic RPG... but even MORE cinematic than FFX, if you can believe it. The beginning intro is about 15 minutes long, and then you go through long story scenes all the time. But unlike crappy story scenes like in Wild Arms: The 4th Detinator, these are actually funny and show the character's personalities... while entertaining. I mean, the Wild Arms music was good... it was better than average... BUT THE MUSIC IN GRANDIA III IS PERHAPS THE BEST I HAVE HEARD SINCE ... FINAL FANTASY TACTICS. I can't believe it. That with the combination of how detailed everything is visually... would make any game good enough to buy. But what really makes it ... Beyond belief... is the battle system. Oh my God. I couldn't believe it... Your guys are always running around on the battle field... and if you time your characters right with the right character, you can do air combos... that just look AWESOME. Everything is so great... I can't wait to play more of it! Also loading time is almost non-existant, even for saving your game. It's unbelievable. I can't wait to try Dragon Quest VIII seriously, to give that one a go... because it'll probably be just as awesome, if not, more awesome than Grandia III. But I guess it's hard to compare games that are just SO different... (Grandia III has an all new fighting system, and the typical RPG stuff... but Dragon Quest VIII sticks back to it's NES roots... and even has the same battle sound effects as the old NES games... still has all the options from the NES games, etc... very old school.)

I played Happy Sky again yesterday. I am slowly getting used to the arcade setup... though I still have problems with stuff like having scratches inbetween left hand 8th notes. ... and basically just hitting more than one left handed note+scratch... and basically making the turn table activate(I guess I don't notice how much I just hit the top of the turn table at home to make it register... at the arcade, you really need to turn it rather than slap it). :/
Anyway, I got an Electronic Dictionary finally... cheapest one, 19000 yen! BUT, they didn't have any of them left in stock, so I asked for the display model WITH A DISCOUNT, and I ended up paying 19000 yen with a case. Little did I know that the case was awful... so I'm going to have to go buy another case(I picked it out myself, but it was all wrapped up, so you couldn't tell if it was good or not... and it LOOKED good... but... :((((((((((((). ;_;
I got some gatorade last night too. :OOO It was on sale for 190 yen for a 2 liter. :O
Oh yeah, I also finished Musashiden 2: Blade Master today.
It was not nearly as good as the first PSX game. :(
When I beat the game, I purposefully saved over my game data, taking a risk... and sure enough, the clear data was the same for every other game, and if you want to continue with it, it makes you restart the game from scratch at the beginning. WOOO! But, by beating the game I unlocked "U.S. mode"... where it actually lets you play through the entire game in English. English voices and English writing. And listening to it in English almost made me ashamed for buying this game... I mean, the voices in Japanese were the typical voices in games... and the text was also pretty typical for games... :/ But the American version just made it seem like its aim was an 8 year old. :( Not saying that liking the same stuff as 8 year olds is bad... I'm just saying, I actually DIDN'T LIKE IT in English... when I kind of enjoyed it in Japanese. That, plus the fact that they gave Musashi's trainer cat broken English like the stereotypical "OMEGEE ALL OF AZIA IS CHINESE!"... :( It's like, they could have made a serious dub and a more accurrate portrayal of Musashi's (and other people's) character/disposition... but no, they just really screwed it up. They made Musashi like a punk... and they made the really really ditsy stupid enemy girl sound like an intellectual... with a fricking fake British English accent and all. Ugh. I should really go and sell this back to the store before I leave... but I thought it was pretty fun... but not the kind of fun that I'm probably ever going to play again, because some parts were just INCREDIBLY frustrating (as they are in most action games)... when you have like 3 guys coming at you, from three different directions and you have to carry some stupid ho around that can't stand up probably because she got banged too hard the night before... so you keep on getting wrecked while having to keep pick her up, and you can't run from them... because apparently legendary swordsmen are really reallllllllly slow runners.

I couldn't sleep all last night... the wind was so intense, the fricking windows kept on pounding with wind. :/ I finally dozed off at 6AM and woke up at 8AM.
BUT I AM FINALLY DONE!!!!!!!!!!!
My last final exam took me less than 20 minutes to do. I think I did quite well, on top of that. XD I worked SO hard for that shit... and the test only took me like 15 minutes. Seriously... that is messed up. :/

There is a live action Initial D movie set for a global theatrical release in September. Such a shame, the month after I leave here. :(
I feel skinnier than ever... It's almost hard to look at myself in the mirror anymore. Good thing that is all about to change starting two weeks from now... well, more realistically, 3 1/2 weeks, when school starts up again in the fall at MSU.

One of the two dreaded exams is now done. It was hard... but I studied really hard, and I think I did pretty darn well.
Tonight I'm going to go through all the words to get the meanings completely figured out... and then I'm going to start real studying from tomorrow until Thursday. The test is Friday at 10:20AM, so... There are about 150-200 different new phrases... so I really have to focus on that one. :( So difficult.
Regardless, I have 4 more days left until school is done for this semester... and only 3 of those days I have classes, and only 2 of those days I have exams. Sooo, it's not quite smooth sailing yet, because of Friday, but I'm pretty much there. Can't wait to finally be done with everything... just to have classes start up again in 3 weeks. I guess that is a pretty decent amount of time off though, no complaints here.
17 days until I leave... It is going to go by SO fast... Words can't describe how anxious I am to see everything back at home... and where everyone will speak in English that is comparable to the English that I can speak... and where I will actually be able to understand everything of what people say 100% instead of like 95%. :/ :(

[31 Jul 2005|03:13pm] |
Yesterday I studied... tried to at least, all day. Then I went to Yamada Denki with my friend Issa's girlfriend... and I sold my Dragonball GT DVD box set for 31500 yen(yeah, I took a 10500 yen loss, but it's okay, because I'd rather have a loss of 10500 yen than the set and a defecit of 42000 yen). Oh well.
I want to buy an electronic dictionary before leaving. My Kanji dictionary is rad for Kanji... but for everything else it's totally gay. Soooo... I'm gonna probably do that on Friday this week.
Oh yeah, while I was at Yamada Denki I bought the new Brave Fencer Musashiden game for PS2... Musashiden 2! :OOO I haven't played it yet, but it looks totally radical. I also picked up Initial D Special Stage, because I know that we will have fun playing that one during the school year at home.
I have a really difficult exam on Monday... so I studied probably 6 hours yesterday, and already about 3 or 4 hours today for it. I got through all of the new super specific and picky grammatical phrases, which is all of it... but I want to keep studying over and over and over so I don't screw up. I got a 70 on the last test, so I really can't screw this one over or else I'll fail. But the material is really tough, so whatever. I'm trying.
Then I have another really hard exam on Friday. That one will have probably 150 new phrases to memorize instead of the 70ish for the Monday test. I can't believe it... I don't think we'd do this much stuff even in a full year at MSU... and this is just one semester. :x

Jesus.
That Japanese constitution exam was IMPOSSIBLE. Holy God. The majority of the students were Japanese too, I don't know how ANY of them are going to pass.
Last night I tried to get in the top 10 for V 7key(because VGTA told me to)... but I couldn't. Stuck with 11th:
http://vjarmy.com/iidx/viewsong.php?songid=61&mode=7
:(
For some reason my fingers don't like to cooperate with me when I get rolls of the nature of 1+5 and 3+7, even though if I get the normal 1+7 and 3+5 it's no problem. I think my brain can't comprehend both rolls going left to right. :(
_..._ .._..._ _..._ .._..._
Is impossible
But _......_ .._.._... _......_ .._.._...
Or any varient that looks like that on the screen is just fine. :( It makes no sense to me. :/ My brain is weird.

Man...
I am having a really bad week.
A lot of uncalled for things have been said to me lately...
A lot of shit is just going down in my real life and online life.
I feel like everyone is just attacking me all at once, it doesn't make sense.
I reformatted my hard drive yesterday... and it seems to be working pretty well so far. I'm going to be selling my Dragonball GT DVD set as soon as I can. I'm going to go around to stores in Naha soon asking how much they will give me for the set... DBGT isn't nearly as good as I remembered it being 5 years ago. :( I will be happy if they give me 300 dollars for the set. :/ But, for some reason, I doubt I'll be able to sell it. Oh well.
I have exams for my Japanese classes next week. It is going to be really hard for me to memorize all the things I need to memorize for them. :( At least the speech I gave about bootlegs went pretty well yesterday.

God damn it.
I was trying to rip a DVD so I could use the files to express what a ripped DVD looks like on your hard drive... (for my speech in 44 minutes)
And DVD Shrink kept locking up, program erroring, and then terminating.
I guess there really is something wrong with my hard drive again... I guess I should probably backup everything and re-format my hard drive again.
God damn it.

I played 6th style and got no #1's. I got #2 on 19,november another. :/
I got up to 86.something% on Sync another. I remember I was stuck at 80% for the longest time. The timing is still messed up on the song though, and it messes me up because messed up timing with hard notes combined makes it too hard for me to work with.
I am done with the shitty grammar class with the worst teacher ever. All I have left is the exam... and about 8 pages of material to memorize for it. :( Why the heck is there so much to memorize in a foreign language with NO PRACTICAL USE FOR IT? :( I mean, I haven't used any of the stuff I am going to memorize ONCE yet... and I won't until I attempt to use it for the first time on the exam. This is the worst way to learn something ever.
I have a speech tomorrow about how piracy in Japan would go down if Japanese media prices were cheaper.
Sometimes asian girls can be really really beautiful. I don't know, there is just something ... more compelling about people that look like they came from different countries... as long as they don't smell bad or have messy teeth. :x
I am kind of bored right now... because I am procrastinating my studying... I really don't want to, and I probably won't start until like Wednesday or whatever. Oh well.
Oh yeah, my computer hard drive also got screwed from trying to rip so many super scratched DVDs. I think it has something to do with my DVD drive being right next to my hard drive on my computer, or something like that... I don't know, but there is an error dialogue whenever I boot my computer up that says for me to back up all my data and replace my hard drive before a permanent crash happens. :(
My mom said she'd get my car's headlight fixed for the past 6 or so months. She still hasn't. She even has the spare motor that is needed for the headlight... she just WON'T take it in to get it fixed. I told her that that is the ONLY thing that I would really appreciate her doing before I got home... and I come home in about 3 1/2 weeks... and she still hasn't done it. :( She said "Well I'm sick" and I go, "Yeah mom, you're always sick or working... I asked you to do one thing for the past 6 months, and you still haven't done it. I come home in 3 1/2 weeks..." and she goes, "Now I know you are just saying stuff you don't mean" and I go, "no mom, this is how it is. I asked you to do one thing, and you still haven't done it. :(" and she just got totally quiet for the rest of the conversation and said "Okay I'm going to bed good night."
